Can someone apply to IIT without a JEE?
Indeed, admission to IIT without taking the JEE Main 2025 is possible, but only for non-B.Tech programs. The Joint Admission Test (JAM) for M.Sc., the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEEED), the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED), the Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Exam (HSEE), and the Common Admission Test (CAT) for MBA programs are additional courses to gain admission to IITs. There are numerous more options and courses available besides the JEE Main exam for those who aspire to become IIT students.
How Many Students Are Admitted to IIT?
A great number of students want to get admitted into IITs every year; nevertheless, only a small percentage manage to achieve high enough scores to gain admission. To gain admission to an IIT, a candidate must pass a screening process. The first session of the JEE Main 2025 will take place from January 22-31, 2025, and the second session will take place from April 1-8, 2025. There will be two papers for JEE Main 2025: Paper I and Paper II. Candidates who receive good marks in JEE Main 2025 are eligible to sit in JEE Advanced, the second round of the JEE exam.
Out of thousands of individuals who take the JEE Main exam every year, only half of them manage to advance to the JEE Advanced. Only 10,000 of the approximately 25,000 qualifying candidates can secure seats at any of the 23 IITs. IIT seats rise in tandem with the number of IITs. Candidates get admitted to the IITs based on their JEE Advanced rank. The order of admission is determined by the list of IITs from top to bottom. Thus, keep your attention on your JEE preparation to secure a spot at one of the best IITs.
How many times can we take the IIT JEE exam?
A candidate is permitted to take the IIT JEE exam six times over the course of three consecutive years. A candidate may take the JEE Main exam twice a year, in January and April. The candidate may appear in the JEE Main 2025 if they pass their 12th-grade exam in 2024 or 2023. The candidate may participate in both JEE Main 2025 sessions if they plan to take the class 12 board exam in 2025. It is recommended that students review the entire list of qualifying criteria for JEE Main to ensure they understand the prerequisites.
