JEE Main Results 2025: Normalization Process
Authorities employ the normalization process to address the varying levels of difficulty resulting from the JEE Main exam's multiple-session format. NTA provided the normalized JEE Main 2025 results to show the proportion of candidates whose scores are on par with or lower than the highest-scoring candidate for that specific session. The following formula is used to determine NTA scores:
Method: (100 times the number of candidates that showed up for the session and had a raw score that was either the same as the candidate's or lower than the candidate's) / total number of candidates that showed up for that session
Applicants should be aware that the normalized NTA score and the percentage of exam points earned are not the same.
JEE Main Result 2025: Calculating the Percentile
The National Testing Agency determines the JEE Main 2025 percentile results for each subject (mathematics, chemistry, and physics) as well as for the combined format using the normalization formula as shown above.
Calculating JEE Main Percentile
Total Percentile (T1P):
(100 × Total number of candidates who attended the session and whose raw score was either equal to or lower than the T1 score) / Total number of candidates
Mathematics Percentile (M1P)
(100 × Number of candidates who showed up from the session and had a raw score in mathematics that was either equal to or lower than the M1 score) / Total number of candidates who showed up for the session
Physics Percentile (P1P)
(100 x The number of applicants who showed up from the session and whose raw score was either the same as or lower than the Physics P1 score) / The total number of candidates who showed up for the session
Chemistry Percentile (C1P):
(100 × Number of candidates who showed up from the session and had a raw score in Chemistry that was equal to or lower than a C1 score) / Total number of candidates that showed up for the session

JEE Main Result 2025: Re-Evaluation/Re-Checking
NTA officials will not entertain any request made by any candidate for re-evaluation or re-check of the JEE Main result 2025. The marks achieved by the candidates in theirJEE Main 2025 results will be final.
JEE Main 2025 Result by Name
There is no way to check the JEE Main results by name as per the rules of NTA. Candidates can only need their application number, password, and date of birth to view their NTA IIT JEE Main 2025 results.
Differences between JEE Main Percentile and Percentage
Many students become confused and unknowingly assume JEE Main Marks vs. rank vs. %ile are the same thing, even though they are 3 very different things. While the percentile is determined using relative marking, the JEE Main percentage is the outcome of absolute marking.
-
JEE Main Percentage is calculated as (100 x Candidate Marks) / Total Marks.
-
JEE Main Percentile 2025 is calculated as follows: (100 x Number of candidates in the session whose aggregate marks were lower than their own) / Total number of candidates who appeared in that session.
Difference between Marks vs. Rank vs. %ile
The following table allows candidates to view the projected JEE Main marks vs. rank vs. %ile. Candidates must get more than 250 marks to obtain a percentile of more than 90, according to the comparison table of JEE Main marks vs. rank vs. %ilegiven below.

Understanding the JEE Main marks vs. rank vs. %ilecomparison table can aid students in understanding the score calculation process. The percentile scores that correspond to the marks in the NTA JEE Main exam are shown in the JEE Main marks vs. rank vs. %ile table. NTA uses a special normalization formula to get the JEE Main marks vs. rank vs. %ile 2025.
JEE Main Marks vs. Rank vs. %ile: What is a Good Score?
This is advised to students who are looking for answers to questions like “Is 120 a good score in JEE Main?", "Is 160 a good score in JEE Main?", or "Is 150 a good score in JEE Main?” that a good score simply depends on which college or institute a student seeks to attend.
