Dr. Firdous Ahmad Malik is currently working as Assistant Professor (Economics) at the University of People in Pasadena, California, United States.
Prior, he has served as research fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy and Senior Research Associate at the Jindal Centre for the Global South at O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat–Haryana. Dr.Firdous graduated his Ph.D. and MPhil both in Economics from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, India. While he received his Post-Graduation in Economics from the University of Kashmir. On the research front, his interest lies in Microfinance, Financial inclusion, and Financial literacy. Further, he has served the academic world through his renowned publications in national and international journals of Springer, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and other Scopus indexed. Apart from research articles, Dr. Firdous holds the onus of contribution to publication of 4 books till date. The names include Financial Inclusion Schemes in India—Springer Publications, Financial Behavior of Urban Dwellings in India— Notion Press, Asymmetry of Information and Lending Risk Livelihood Pattern of Street Vendors in India— Books Clinic, Health System in Jammu and Kashmir: Challenges and Opportunities—Shineeks. While his upcoming book project entitled Repatriation Management and Competency Transfer in a Culturally Dynamic World with Springer publications is scheduled to be published soon. To promote research among the upcoming young generation, Dr. Firdous at present is associated with specific international organizations viz. Young Scholars Initiative (YSI). He further keeps on contributing and promoting research by participating as presenter and along with serving as session chairs, review panellists in national and international conferences across the globe. For his tireless contribution to promoting young researchers he has been awarded by the Jindal Center for Global South two best paper presentations and AIBPM Malaysian conference organizers as a best reviewer award in June 2023.
