The CUET Test Pattern provides you with all the details you need to prepare for the exam including the exam’s format, languages, marking system, syllabus, etc. The exam will be given online as a computer-based test according to the CUET 2024 Test Pattern. The exam’s length will depend on the course a candidate has chosen.

There are objective-type questions in the CUET 2025 Question Paper. 13 languages—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu—are available for candidates to use when taking the entrance exam.

The following four sections make up CUET 2025, according to the CUET Exam Pattern 2025.

CUET 2025 Exam Pattern: Sectional Information

Both Section IA and Section B assess the phrase's effectiveness. Students can choose from 3 different languages from Sections IA and IB together. However, the sixth domain-specific Topic for the applicant must be replaced with the third language.

There are 13 different languages listed under Section IA. You may select any of them. To evaluate language, literary aptitude, vocabulary, and reading comprehension (based on a variety of passage types, including factual, literary, and narrative ones) will be used. Section IB identifies 20 different languages. Any other language may be chosen in addition to those listed in Section I A.

Section II: There are 27 domain-specific themes covered in this section. According to the preferences of the relevant university or universities, an applicant may choose up to six domains.

Section III includes the general test for every undergraduate program offered by colleges that requires it for admission. The topics covered in these sections include general knowledge, current events, general mental ability, numerical ability, and quantitative reasoning (simple application of fundamental mathematical concepts taught through Grade 8, including logical and analytical reasoning,arithmetic, algebraic geometry, and measurement).

Vital Information about the CUET Test Format for 2025

The candidates' language proficiency will be evaluated in Sections IA and IB of the language-based sections using passages of a literary, factual, or narrative nature.

Maximum Subjects: The total number of languages that applicants may select from Sections IA and IB is three. However, the third language must deal with a subject that is unique to the chosen field. Candidates will be required to select a maximum of six subjects from the 27 available options from Part II. This will be based on the requirements set forth by the relevant university.

Difficulty Level: The CUET 2024 sections' levels of difficulty will be based on the Class 12th curriculum.

Maximum Number of Attempts- If the candidate's particular university allows Class 12th students from the previous year to take the CUET 2024 exam, then those candidates may also choose to take the test.

Schedule of Exam: Depending on the number of applicants and the languages/Tests they took, CUET 2024 will be administered over several days in two shifts.

CUET 2025 Marking System

The participating students will obtain scores out of 100 marks per the CUET 2025 marking scheme established by NTA. There will be 100 questions altogether, with 1 mark awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 points subtracted for each incorrect one.

Forgoing a question will not result in a loss of marks, however providing an inaccurate response will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks. You may view the precise CUET 2025 marking scheme in the table below.

CUET 2025 Exam Pattern FAQs

Question. How Numerous Marks are there in CUET Exam Pattern?

Answer. The question paper will be of objective type, i.e., comprising multiple choice questions (MCQs). The total marks allotted for each section is 200 and every question will carry 5 marks. There is negative marking and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
