UGC Announces Major Changes (Early 2025)

 
The CUET UG 2025 has seen major reforms this year, prescribed by the University Grant Commission (UGC), such as shifting to online Computer-Based Test Mode and cutting down the number of subjects to 5. Applicants can now pick the subjects regardless of what stream they had in class 12. 
 

Fee Structure Announced (March 2025)

 
The application cost for the CUET UG 2025 exam was made public by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and it differs depending on the category of applicants and the number of courses selected.
 

Application Correction Window Opened (March 2025)

 
The correction window was opened for 2 days from March 26-28, 2025. During this period, candidates were allowed to make corrections in their application form to mitigate the risk of rejection.
 

Extended Application Deadline (March 24, 2025)

 
The last date to apply for the CUET UG 2025 was shifted to March 24, 2025, to provide candidates extra time to finish their applications.
 

New CUET Portal Launched (March 2025)

 
NTA launched a new web portal for CUET UG 2025 to provide better access to information regarding CUET UG 2025, the application process, and participating universities to all applicants.
 

Changes in Exam Cities (March 2025)

 
Candidates can take the CUET UG 2025 in 285 cities in India (previously 354) and 15 cities in foreign nations (previously 26).
 

Changes in Exam Duration (March 2025)

 
CUET UG exam will have a 60-minute time duration for each subject. The modification was introduced to ensure a smooth exam procedure.
 

Expert Committee Recommendations Implemented (March 2025)

 
Reducing the number of subjects to 37 and switching to the CBT mode were two of the recommendations made by the UGC expert group for CUET UG 2025.
 

Clarification on Subject Choices (March 2025)

 
Students aspiring for CUET UG 2025 must satisfy the admission eligibility of the college they chose, even though they are free to choose whatever subjects they want, regardless of what subjects they had in class 12, as per the NTA guidelines for subjects.  
 

Introduction of New Exam Features (March 2025)

 
NTA launched a new platform for students seeking information about the CUET UG 2025 while allowing them to pay their fees via any payment gateway they want, such as SBI, Canara Bank, and HDFC Bank. 
 

Exam Duration Standardization

 
Each CUET UG 2025 test will last 60 minutes, according to the new guidelines. In the past, the duration of the exam varied by subject, ranging from 45 to 60 minutes.
 

Changes in Exam Cities

 
Exam cities have decreased from 26 to 15 outside of India and from 354 to 285 inside India. This modification attempts to solve the logistical issues seen in prior years and expedite the examination procedure. 
 

Introduction of New CUET Portal

 
For CUET UG 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened a special CUET portal. To help candidates, this platform offers comprehensive information on the test, participating universities, and other crucial updates.

The CUET UG 2025 application fee schedule has been released by NTA; specifics vary according to the number of subjects selected and the types of candidates. The application fee can be paid by UPI, credit card, debit card, or net banking.
