Overview: AKTU Admission 2025
Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow, formerly known as UPTU, scrapped the AKTU entrance exam 2025 for engineering admissions back in 2022, also known as the UPSEE/UPCET. AKTU previously used to conduct its own entrance exam, UPCET, a state-level entrance exam for enrollment in state-run engineering colleges for B.Tech in UP. The UPCET Entrance test, formerly known as UPSEE, offered a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees. However, UPCET was replaced by AKTU in 2022 by other national-level entrance exams for engineering, including JEE Mains and CUET, for admission in colleges in Noida for B. Tech affiliated to AKTU and other state-run universities and colleges.
To admit applicants to the Engineering and Technology programs in 2025, AKTU colleges are now accepting the results of JEE Mains entrance exams. Candidates who successfully pass the JEE Mains can enroll in both public and private engineering colleges for B.Tech in UP. However, Candidates with valid JEE Mains must attend UPCET counseling 2025, which is now renamed as Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling 2025 UPTAC, to qualify for admission in AKTU colleges and other engineering colleges for B. Tech in UP.
AKTU accept CUET results for admission in B.Tech Biotechnology programs under the specialization of Agriculture engineering only. Therefore, students seeking admission in that profile must clear the CUET exam and secure good scores to qualify for admission apart from satisfying other basic eligibility criteria.
